Come join us for our Resourceful Adolescent Program!

What is RAP?

The Resourceful Adolescent Program (RAP-A) aims to help teenagers between the ages of 11- 15 handle challenging situations which may arise during this period of change. It is designed to build positive coping strategies and resiliency in teenagers when they face stressful and difficult circumstances.

RAP-A is a strength based program that builds self-esteem by focusing on each participant’s individual strengths. It uses elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to build resiliency in teenagers.

The cognitive-behavioural component teaches participants about the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviour, provides techniques in relaxation and stress management, and supports problem solving skills. The interpersonal component focuses on perspective taking and building supportive networks during periods of interpersonal conflict.
