Diploma in Special Education (National Institute of Education, Singapore)
Faith has a Diploma in Special Education from National Institute of Education (NIE). In 2012, she started off in a secondary school as an Allied Educator – Learning & Behavioural Support (AED-LBS) and went on to pursue her in-service training for Diploma in SpEd (NIE). Upon graduation, she continued as an AED-LBS in a primary school. During her time with the Ministry of Education (Singapore), she managed a variety of case types; including children with Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Language Disorders, etc. Whenever possible, she collaborates frequently with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that every child receives all-rounded support. She has experience in conducting both individual and small group intervention programmes; tailored to meet the learning and behavioural needs of the young children and adolescents. In 2016, she was nominated for ‘ACE Mentor’, an annual national award by Society for the Promotion of ADHD Research and Knowledge (SPARK). Prior to joining CDC, she worked as an Early Intervention Teacher in the private sector.
All in all, Faith is passionate in the work of inclusion and integration of individuals with diverse abilities. She advocates for early, consistent and tailored interventions for every child. In addition, she believes in being child-centric while having holistic child care approach when planning and executing intervention programmes.
As a personnel in the helping profession, Faith strives to be ethical and effective by exercising both mental and physical self-care at all times. Her personal interests includes reading, baking, cycling and travelling.
