Ms Sherina Tan
Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
Minor in Early Childhood Education
Sherina graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor in Psychology, minoring in Early Childhood Education. Her course of study enabled her to better understand the developmental needs and learning milestones of children, as well as the theoretical approaches towards therapy interventions. During her course of study, Sherina took several modules relating to developmental and child psychopathology, where she gained a deeper understanding of developmental disorders and management of these conditions. These developmental disorders include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Dyslexia.
Previously, Sherina has worked part time at a private practice, where she was exposed to working with children with Autism (ASD). This exposure helped shaped her passion towards formulating teaching and learning strategies to help instil fun in learning. She was trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) strategies and conducted one-to-one ABA therapy with children from 6-8 years old. She has also facilitated group social skills programs for young children in early intervention settings.
Sherina is passionate in developing teaching approaches for each child. She believes that every child deserves to learn to their best capacity and desires to formulate the best learning methods to help children attain that goal of independence and enjoy the process of learning.
